Morgan Sindall reveals plans to drive social value
Morgan Sindall Construction and European Metal Recycling (EMR) have announced a new partnership which will benefit local causes
Morgan Sindall Construction’s north west team is joining forces with sustainable recycling business EMR to raise funds for local causes.
The social value partnership is an evolution of an existing collaboration between the two organisations and is aimed at delivering a lasting impact in local communities across the UK.
Reclaimed metals from Morgan Sindall’s construction projects will be collected by EMR and the value of the materials will be donated to local charitable causes.
Materials collected from Manchester City Council’s Hammerstone Depot and Newhouse Academy in Rochdale will be donated to the local conservation and regeneration initiative, City of Trees.
To mark the start of the partnership, EMR and Morgan Sindall have donated a first instalment of £900 to City of Trees, which will facilitate the planting of 90 trees across Greater Manchester.
Kane Greenough, supply chain sustainability manager in Morgan Sindall Construction’s north west team, said: “This is an excellent example of linking social value with sustainability, creating a symbiotic relationship between environmentally responsible practices whilst providing a positive impact on local communities.
“This partnership reflects our Intelligent Solutions approach – our set of core principles that enable us to deploy technology and collaboration in order to help our customers and communities decarbonise.”
