Webinar | Meeting the sustainability skills challenge
Free webinar on 4 May will explore how the built environment sector can address the sustainability skills gap
As the sector grapples with ambitious sustainability targets, ensuring the workforce is equipped with the right skills has never been more important.
Experts from across industry and academia will share insight on how the built environment sector should tackle sustainability skills challenges as part of a virtual event, delivered in association with the University College of Estate Management.
The webinar, on 4 May at 2.30PM (BST), will examine what sustainability skills look like, where the sector can find them, and how they are different to other skills.
During the discussion, the speakers will also consider how the sector should fundamentally approach the challenge, looking beyond the traditional silos of either management or technology, and instead embrace the socio-technical nature of sustainability.
Speakers for the webinar will be:
• Dr Graeme Larsen FCIOB, associate dean of sustainability at the University College of Estate Management
• Rachel Bannon-Godfrey, vice president, SDG impact leader at Stantec
• Sajni Vekaria, environmental sustainability graduate in major projects and highways at Balfour Beatty
• Andy Stanton, head of sustainability UK and Europe at Introba UK
This webinar is free to attend and qualifies for one hour’s CPD credit for those who watch it before 4 June. The event will be broadcast live; shortly after, it will be available to watch on demand.
