Amey employment scheme targets young offenders 

Amey has partnered with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) charity to launch a programme aimed at enhancing employment prospects for young offenders post-release.

In collaboration with prison teams, Amey and DofE will co-develop a three-year programme that integrates vocational qualifications with the Bronze DofE Award. 

The initiative, which will support up to 168 young offenders, builds on existing initiatives like Amey’s Clean, Rehabilitative, Enabling and Decent (CRED) programme.

The programme will align DofE activities with practical work experience opportunities in areas such as grounds maintenance, warehousing, and administration. 

Candidates will also have the opportunity to attend DofE employability events, taster days, and job interviews with Amey or its supply chain partners.

Following a trial at participating prisons, Amey and DofE hope to roll out the programme and encourage similar strategic partnerships and social value programmes across different sectors.
