ABC celebrates construction students’ success
Training programmes have been designed to support students as they transition from education to employment
The Association of Brickwork Contractors (ABC) is hosting a series of certificate ceremonies at colleges across the country to celebrate students who have completed its training programmes.
Funded by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the training programmes have been running for one academic year under the Home Building Commission.
Each certificate ceremony is attended by local employers and key stakeholders, providing an opportunity for students to engage with prospective employers and discuss future career prospects.
CITB is also incentivising employers to hire graduates from the college programme through a funding initiative designed to support the transition from education to employment. Participating employers will receive financial support when they hire college students on a full-time basis.
Eve Livett, CEO of the ABC, said: “The certificate ceremonies are more than just a celebration; they are a bridge between education and employment. Our collaboration with colleges and CITB has been instrumental in equipping students with the necessary skills and connecting them with industry leaders.
“Employers attending these events will also have the chance to meet our dedicated trainers and learn more about the training curriculum and the exceptional talent nurtured over the past year. Here at the ABC, we look forward to continuing our mission of supporting the next generation of construction professionals.”
